Hi, I’m Cloris — a music therapist and piano teacher from Hong Kong, now based in Cambridge.

My love for music started when I was young, long before formal lessons. Music has always been a place where I felt free, confident, and truly myself. Over the years, I went through many exams, competitions, and performances, which helped me grow as a musician. But more importantly, they led me to reflect on why we learn music.

I realised that the most meaningful moments are not about results or grades, but about how music helps us connect, express emotions, and experience joy. When music creates a positive and fulfilling experience for someone else, that’s when it truly matters.

This belief is at the heart of my work. Whether I’m teaching piano or working as a music therapist, my focus is on building confidence, supporting each child’s individual learning style, and making music enjoyable and achievable. My hope is that music can become a lifelong companion for every student — something that supports their emotional wellbeing as well as their musical growth.
